James Drews, cofounder of Linane / Drews Architects, has been practicing in the field of architecture for the past thirty years. Mr. Drews has extensive experience in retail architecture, with an emphasis on specialty retail stores and department stores. He also has participated in a wide variety of other projects types, including office buildings, multifamily housing, restaurants, and health clubs. He has been involved in all phases of the design and construction process, from initial programming and concept development through build out and fixturization. He has worked closely with major retailers in the development of store prototype designs, integrating various aspects of design such as storefronts, display fixtures, lighting, and finishes.

Throughout his career, Mr. Drews has enjoyed working with some of the top retailers in the world, including The Disney Store, Williams-Sonoma, Banana Republic, Coldwater Creek, H&M and Brighton Collectibles. His project experience is truly international, having completed projects in the United States, Germany, France, Japan, Canada and Mexico. Through these experiences, he has learned to work with many types of people under a variety of circumstances, including producing documents with metric dimensioning and notations in languages other than English.
