Linane / Drews Architects is the creation of its two principal architects, Donald D. Linane, Jr. and James E. Drews, who have over forty years combined experience in commercial and retail architecture. Together they have developed concepts, designed, planned or created construction documents for over five hundred specialty retail stores, forty major department stores, several office buildings and many shopping centers. They have completed projects in every region of the continental United States, as well as Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. They have also served as project architects for retail and health facilities in France, Germany, England, Poland, Australia, Indonesia, Tahiti, Mexico, Canada, and Japan.

The principals of Linane / Drews Architects have developed an extensive network within the retail and construction industry, working closely with some of the most prestigious retailers in the world. No strangers to innovation, they have utilized computer-aided design throughout their careers.

Linane / Drews Architects has structured an architectural firm that is geared to produce a quality product while providing hands on service. We provide service to our retail clients at every level, from concept design to the design of merchandise fixtures and new stores, to the production of contract documents, and on through construction administration services. More importantly, we understand the intricacies and time constraints inherent to both prototype development and roll out programs, for specialty retail stores.

As specialists in retail store design, we enjoy working with our clients to develop new store concepts and prototype designs. Our concern for design carries on through the rollout phase, where we work steadily to refine and enhance ongoing programs. Linane / Drews Architects has moved Brighton from development of prototype to roll out with the successful completion of 24 new stores throughout the Western United States during 2000. We are also pleased to have recently developed new store concepts with Watchworks, NKL Apparel, The Beauty Collection, ESPN and The Disney Store.

Linane / Drews Architects has extensive experience working with Banana Republic in their store design and construction program. In addition to ongoing work on their standard stores, we are currently leading the design and construction of two of their flagship stores. We are also pleased to be involved with Banana Republic on an ongoing basis to develop and enhance design concepts in conjunction with their in-house design team As one of their primary architectural firms, we do store planning, site surveys and construction documents for their ongoing roll out program. Our principals, James Drews and Donald Linane, also have a long affiliation with The Disney Store program that began in 1988 with the early experimental prototypes and has continued through to the current rollout program. We have been involved in all aspects of these roll out programs. We have been instrumental in development of many of their store standards, their site & photo survey formats, and their code analysis formats. We also understand the time demands of a major roll out, having been involved with this program from the time when the client was developing a handful of stores each year to years in which over 60 stores were opened. Our prior experience has included projects for such diverse retailers as The Disney Store, ESPN, Banana Republic, Williams-Sonoma, The Pottery Barn, Abercrombie and Fitch, Brooks Brothers, Robinsons-May, The Broadway, Gottschalks, and numerous other specialty and department stores.

Linane / Drews Architects understand intimately what is involved in building a successful retail store, from conceptual design and programming through construction and fixturization. We work with our clients at every phase of the process. We have also invested heavily in computer systems and software to facilitate visualization and production of this type of program.
